This year some selected pieces of my art will be part of the 56th Fukuoka Citizen’s Arts Festival. I thank Li Yuxi and her K.S Art Agency for giving me this great opportunity.
♦ Stocked up my washi inventory in Tokyo
Visited Ozu Washi to fill up my washi storage for new light projects. It’s one of the best places for washi paper in Japan, could spend hours there. 🙂
♦ Exhibit at Design Festa vol. 48, Tokyo
Great exhibit at Tokyo Design Festa vol. 48. Thanks to my Japanese customers. Enjoyed this extraordinary event! Will come back in the future.
♦ Meeting with Stephen White
At the end of my art-related visits in the Pacific Nothwest I had the opportunity to meet the creator of the art technique I use – light sculpture artist Stephen White. Learned a lot and was deeply inspired by his works. Right after my stay at Stephen’s studio I drove along the scenic Pacific Coast, which added up to a fascinating experience.
Great to meet you Stephen, thank you!
♦ Meeting with Cameron Mathieson
During a tour through the Pacific Northwest I took the opportunity to visit light sculpture artist Cameron Mathieson. I found great inspiration and discussed creative techniques. Thank you so much!
♦ Exhibiting at Tokyo Design Festa in November
Last time I was just there as a visitor, in November 2018 I will exhibit my light sculptures at Design Festa in Tokyo. Come see my sculpturama exhibition in the low lighting area at the upcoming Design Festa in Tokyo.
Design Festa will be held in the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center on Nov. 10-11.
♦ A new light arch is in the making
I experimented with a beautiful cannabis fibre paper and found the right light arch to apply it! 🙂 The sculpture’s light shell is based on cannabis fibres. The light bulb will be detachable from below.
